Software development toolmaker JetBrains has released IntelliJ IDEA 2020.1, a major update of its flagship code-centric Java IDE.

The new release of the JetBrains IDE brings pre-release support for Java 25 and Maven 4, while the AI tools AI Assistant and Junie receive new functions.

With the Extension Pack for Java, VS Code makes a highly capable Java IDE and formidable competitor to Eclipse, NetBeans, and IntelliJ IDEA.
